OUR JOURNEY

The heart of the DR Congo beats strongly within us. Growing up immersed in the poignant tales of our homeland, we've been driven by a profound desire to unite with our kin and forge a brighter path for our nation. The DR Congo Education Foundation (DRCEF) emerged from a shared conviction that we could offer a more inclusive approach to uplifting Congolese people globally.

Traditional efforts to alleviate poverty in DR Congo—through direct aid and financial support—have had their place, yet we believe in the preemptive power of education to address challenges at their root. Echoing Nelson Mandela's wisdom, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world," DRCEF is founded on the principle that education is essential for meaningful progress in DR Congo and its community.

Inspired by our families, friends, and extensive research, we formalized our commitment in 2019, establishing DRCEF as a non-profit organisation. Our foundation is built on transparency and community involvement, with volunteers playing a crucial role as trustees, staff, and advisors, bringing invaluable local insights and forging partnerships that enhance our effectiveness.

Fuelled by the dream of elevating Congo's place in the world, we've been motivated to initiate this foundation. The strong bonds and ongoing dialogues with our partners not only make our efforts more impactful but also extend our reach. These deep connections and our commitment to community have amplified our influence far beyond our size.
